Game Modes & Mechanics
This activity utilizes a highly effective "Scaffolded Learning" approach, divided into two distinct phases:
- Step 1: LEARN Mode (Vocabulary Acquisition)
By clicking the "Learn" button, students are introduced to the target vocabulary through interactive digital flashcards. Each body part is presented with a clear visual, written text, and native audio pronunciation. Students are encouraged to watch, listen, and repeat. This phase builds phonemic awareness and confidence before any testing occurs. - Step 2: PLAY Mode (Gamified Assessment)
Once ready, students transition to the "Play" phase. Two different body part images appear on the screen simultaneously. An audio prompt plays one of the target words. Students must process the auditory cue and tap the correct matching image. - The Reward System:
Every correct tap earns the student a golden star! The ultimate goal is to see how many stars they can collect by the end of the game, fostering a fun and competitive classroom atmosphere.
